Being Right Where God Wants Me To Be

Some of you might wonder " Why the name change ? " other's of you know what it means. Women Professing Godliness is part of a verse in the New Testament of the Bible.

In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

I Timothy 2:9 - 10

If you read my about page you will see what it means to me.

In my soul searching the last month or so I have come to see that getting back to the basics means I want to be right where the Lord wants me to be. Part of that soul searching lead me to spending many days, weeks offline for the most part and reassesing what really needed to be changed in my life to be in that perfect will of God. To be the woman God wants me to be and to walk in holiness before him and others. To not just profess godliness but to live and display it for all to see and witness in my life.

With Good Works...

In one of my recent posts Hello is Anyone Home ?  I was Home, but not really at Home. I was doing so much , striving to make everything work and yet life was so stressful for me that I was literally getting sick. What good was I to God, My Husband or my children if I was sick. So I prayed a lot during the time I was offline and was really seeking where things had gotten so messed up and so stressful. When we leave doing things God's way, things get very stressful. God has an order for us to follow and he has instructions we are to follow in His Word the Bible.

~ In order for Life not to be stressful, we need to follow God's instructions.~

No matter what the cost is personally, I needed to do this and have assurance in my heart knowing God would work everything out.  I needed to do as he said and trust the rest to Him. I spoke of Trust in my sharing on God's Provision.  Do we really trust Him ? I know we say we do, but down deep we tend to walk things out in the flesh and say were trusting Him, but in reality we aren't.

Yes it might mean things will be harder, but in the long run it will mean getting a blessing. God is faithful to us, even when we are not so faithful to Him. When we profess to be godly, we need to display Him and his rightiousness.  Otherwise we are walking out a lie and a falsehood.

So for me being a Keeper at Home, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Daughter, Sister and Friend, I wanted to be what I am suppose to be and do it according to God's standards, not anyone elses. I knew that if I did this I would be blessed of God and I knew that my husband would be happy with me. That is important to me.

To know that God is happy with me and that my husband is also happy.

But I also needed to be happy with myself.

This leads to a happier home.

I want my profession to match my life.  I want others to see Jesus in me. I want them to bear witness that what I say is indeed the way I live.

So for Today this is why I changed the name of my website and this is the way I long to live.

There will be many changes coming here and I hope that you will come back and visit me and see

where the Lord is leading me back to and what is happening in my life.

I know that some of these changes may mean loosing those who follow here, but thats ok.

I am following God, not society's ideas of who I should be.

Shelley Shepard Gray is heading back to Sugarcreek in JOYFUL! {Book giveaway.}

Joyful

A young Amish couple gets a second chance at love in New York Times bestselling author Shelley Shepard Gray’s final book in her Return to Sugarcreek series.

Randall Beiler is doing his best to put his family and the farm’s needs first, even forsaking love. But though he tries, Randall knows he needs help caring for his younger siblings and keeping the house together.

When his brother offers pretty Elizabeth Nolt a job taking care of the house and cooking for the family, Randall is furious—and guilty about the way he once broke Elizabeth’s heart. But when he learns that Elizabeth and her grandmother are struggling to make ends meet, he knows the offer, no matter how painful, is the right thing for everyone.

Elizabeth wants to refuse—to stay far away from the man who hurt her—but she needs the money. Though she vows to protect her heart, spending time in the Beiler household makes Elizabeth realize that, while she’s older and wiser, her love for Randall still burns strong.

Randal, too, seems to want something more. But does he want Elizabeth because he truly loves her—or because he needs a housekeeper? If Randall sincerely wants something more, he must find a way to show Elizabeth—or risk losing his chance at love forever.

My Review

I so enjoyed all three of Shelley's books in this series. Not many get a second chance at love, but you will enjoy this story as Shelley takes us back to Sugarcreek. Follow the many story lines. It really is a heartwarming tale of Love !

Christmas At Rose Hill Farm iPad Bundle Giveaway & sign up to host a Book Club Brunch!

CARHF-e1409864576664

Bess Riehl is preparing Rose Hill Farm for her Christmas wedding, but her groom isn’t who she thought it would be. Billy Lapp is far away from his Amish roots working as a rose rustler for Penn State and wants nothing to do with Stoney Ridge, his family, or Bess. And that suits Bess just fine. Why should she think twice about a man who left without a word, without any explanation? It’s time she moved on with her life, and that meant saying yes to Amos Lapp, Billy’s cousin and best friend. But as Bess and Amos’s wedding day draws near, her emotions tangle into a tight knot. She loves Amos. Yet she can’t forget Billy.

When a “lost” rose is discovered at Rose Hill Farm, Billy is sent to track down its origins. Get in, identify the rose, and get out. That’s his plan. The only catch is that he’s having a hard time narrowing down the identity of the lost rose, and he can’t get those tropical blue eyes of Bess Riehl out of his mind.

As the history of the lost rose is pieced together, it reminds Bess and Billy–and Amos, too–that Christmas truly is the season of miracles.

My Review

What a touching love story ! I so love Suzanne's books for their wonderful characters and heartfelt tales of love and family. I also love the suspense in them that keeps me reading when I have things to do but you just have to find out what happens. Who will win Bess's love and her heart ? You will be so caught up in the emotional tale woven together with such grace and you will want to find a real Rose Hill Farm to visit ! I just love a great love story that captures your heart and makes you feel like your right there living it yourself. A tale of past , present and a beautiful future. God is faithful and I truly enjoyed this as this is why we choose my blog name. You won't want to miss this awesome Christmas tale.

Tried and True by Mary Connealy

TriedAndTrue-e1400477157666

Saddle up for a wildly fun ride with the Wilde sisters!

Kylie Wilde is the youngest sister–and the most civilized. Her older sisters might be happy dressing in trousers and posing as men, but Kylie has grown her hair long and wears skirts every chance she gets. It’s a risk–they are homesteading using the special exemptions they earned serving in the Civil War as “boys”–but Kylie plans to make the most of the years before she can sell her property and return to the luxuries of life back East.

Local land agent Aaron Masterson is fascinated with Kylie from the moment her long hair falls from her cap. But now that he knows her secret, can he in good conscience defraud the U.S. government? And when someone tries to force Kylie off her land, does he have any hope of convincing her that marrying him and settling on the frontier is the better option for her future?

My Review

I just love Mary's books. They are always so much fun and also suspenseful.  Its seems each book shines forth some of Mary's country girl self and lets us all know that she has a playful adventurous heart. It is always a joy to read her books and this new series will not disappoint anyone.  Have you ever thought what it would be like to live as a man, just to fool others ? Well these Sisters take it to the limits by fighting in the war and then homesteading as men.  Do they enjoy this ? Well I think one might really enjoy it. Will any of them change their minds and long for love and marriage ? Could any man really win their hearts, after all they have had to be strong and courageous living as men for so long.  You will want to saddle up and get your own copy of this first book in the series and see what trouble they get into... I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a light hearted adventure and some really love ?  Did I say love ?  Hurry now ya here and get to the store or amazon to get yourself a copy !

Well I have to say that for those occasional accidents these are wonderful yet still very nice. The mens boxers are soft cotton and comfy  ( I had DH try them) When your older and on meds sometimes it causes accidents. I also loved the woman's under ware very pretty yet the pad in them is very comfortable to wear and doesn't make you feel like your wearing a pad or special disposables for adults.  If you have a leakage issue, you should try these from Wearever !  You can find them at their website  www.WeareverUS.com

God's Provision

When We Really Need God's Provision

Sometimes things in life just seem to be way too hard and out of our control. Things just don't seem to go right and we are finding it hard to make money on the side to keep things going smoothly.  Maybe you/spouse is on disability for some reason and unable to work full time or part time. Or maybe your a one income family, where Mom stays home with the kids or visa versa if your husbands out of work and maybe you homeschool your kids, so your at home.

Whatever your reason for less income

God has it covered !

Yes it seems we get way low on things, we get caught up in the moment and lack faith to see the big picture...

I know I have been there...

You don't know where your next bit of food will come from..

You don't know how your going to get the vehicle fixed...

You don't know how your going to get clothing for your kids...

You don't know where your next job is going to be...

So you can feed your family !

God does know and whatever he has brought you to, He will bring you through it.

I can so relate... Married but sorta living the solo parent life right now. My DH is disabled and we live on a fixed income of SSD. Things do get tight at times and we have to rely on God to provide for us what we can't do ourselves. That requires faith and lots of it !

So your down to your last can of beans and a bag of rice ? What do you do ?

You pray and you eat what you have.

You visit family or friends for a meal.

You call your local food pantry ( getting harder today many are closing down)

You call a church for help.

You apply for food stamps ( if you don't have them already)

You ask for help !

If there is one thing I have learned over the years , its that your pride can't stand in the way of you feeding your family. Everyone has hard times in life.  I know that God doesn't expect anyone to go it alone. That is why we as christians need to help each other, we are family. Sometimes more so they real blood family.

In Acts 2: 44-47 says

And all that believed were together , and had all things common; And sold their possessions and goods and parted them to all men, as  every man had need. And they , continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

So it seems that they took care of the needs of their brethren /sisters and no one went without. They went to temple to learn and then ate at each others houses. And notice they were happy, praising God and everyone was getting along. And the Lord added to their number daily those that should be saved. ( notice it doesn't' say those that would be saved... ) But you do have a choice to make concerning your salvation.

The closest thing to this that I have experienced was in TN ( although I will say that some folks were strange) We met together whenever we were visiting house to house, several times a week and this was to talk of the Lord and to eat a meal or two. We had the greatest times. We talked about the Lord and shared life, no matter how hard it got and you knew that no one (well almost no one) would let you starve or go without.

Here in NY, I was raised to help anyone who needed help. That is just the way my parents raised us to be. Yes I grew up in a christian home as dysfunctional as it was, we were family.

I think so often we " christians" forget that we are family and if you see your family hungry, needing clothing, needing to share their life with you, well you aught to live life as such and not just say that ( Me, my wife, my kids  are my family) We should be living with and loving one another all through out the week, not just on Sabbath or Lord's Day...

God provides for you through your brothers and sisters in Christ.

They may bring you food, clothing, or even work to do that provides you money to get what you need. They may even provide a place for you to stay till you get on your feet and can do it on your own.

It may even come when you didn't share what your needs were... But God knows your needs.

It may come because you shared your needs... and there is nothing wrong with that.

It might come at the last moment when its needed...

or

It may come before you even know your going to need it...

All I do know is that God is faithful, He will meet your needs...

You say well he didn't meet my needs this time...

He didn't answer my prayer...

He didn't help me...

To this I have to say that you missed the answer.

Sometimes He may not think you need what you asked for...

Sometimes He says WAIT and TRUST ME !

The trying of your faith worketh patience, let patience have its perfect work in you...

How Much Do You Trust Him ?

Hello !!!! Is Anyone Home ?

I was Home, but was I really ?

As I sat here reading my morning devotional, usually done in a hurried fashion I had to stop and think about where I was heading in life. If you like me your looking for more ways to make everything at home work for you and your family. I try to make sure that each day I have a devotional time and I want it to be something that really helps me to be the wife, mother and godly woman God wants me to be. I personally find that reading Darlene's thoughts from Time Warp Wife keep me thinking on those things God desires for me at home.

I sat here this morning wondering how on earth I had gotten so far off track... How has everything I am doing really lead me so far from doing those things that i truly enjoy and love to do and so far from my family who I love with all my heart.

Sometimes we get so caught up in the pressures of life that we take it upon ourselves in the flesh to fix the problems in life and if your like me , that means you take on things you really don't want nor enjoy doing. Why ? Just to make a few extra dollars to do more, get more and have those things you think you need. This leads to a very hurried lifestyle of always trying to catch up on those things that are really needing to be done.

So Whats The Answer Right ?

Well, I unplugged for 3 to 4 weeks from most of my online media ! You don't know how good it feels to step back in time and just live life !  I had things to do here to ready for wintertime and we got alot of things done.

We started Homeschooling for this year !

We moved my bedroom downstairs.

We moved my Living room into the room that was my diningroom.

We moved the dining table into the kitchen.

We moved a full sized bed and set up a set of bunk beds in the rear room of the house for guests.

The kids now each have their own rooms upstairs and are enjoying it ! ( Less Arguing and fighting )

I made the room behind my bedroom into an office sewing room !

I actually for the first time in months took a soaking bath, life was so rushed before that I only took showers.

I got to sit down and actually feel tired after doing something real and not online for a change. Will I do this again ? I sure will... I enjoy doing things that I once did.

I Crochet, Quilt, Sew, have time to read a devotional or a full novel. (I read and influence for christian authors ) I went outside and collected 11 feed sacks of kindling and moved what wood was cut to my cellarway, its rather full and soon we will go down in the cellar and move wood around, most seasoned to the space closer to the wood furnace.

"It is amazing what you can get done and enjoy doing it when your life is not revolving around the net !"

What Other Benefits Have I enjoyed ?

I started a Low Carb eating plan hardly any breads or pasta, more veggies and fruit.

I am aiming at a whole foods eating plan.

Green Smoothies and such are my friend!

I have lost  18 lbs !

My size 22 jeans are falling off my waist and I can get them off without undoing them.... Yea for Me !

I have more energy and feel so much better !

And last but surely first....

My Husband loves me and cares for me.  I know he is proud of me for really trying harder to be a Keeper at Home. ( Truth was , I was here, but I wasn't here this past year)

And the most important change...

I have time for God, he has always had time for me but I had little time for him when I was running around like a chicken with my head chopped off. We run around thinking we are doing things for the Lord or in his name...

But Are We Really ?

In the Bible Paul said " I would that young women Marry, Bear Children and Guide the House, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully "I Tim. 5: 14

Titus 2:4 says

That the aged women are to teach the younger women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children. To be discreet , obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

Given that I am 50, but I still have 3 Youngins to home... I wanted to get back to the basics ! I wanted to get back to doing what God requires of me and I so wanted to please my Husband and My Lord.

$200 B&B Weekend Getaway Giveaway & 9/9 Facebook Party with Deborah Raney!

Home to Chicory Lane

Home to Chicory Lane || Book 1, A Chicory Inn Novel

Landyn longs for home, but her mother may have other plans.

Audrey Whitman’s dreams are coming true. Now that their five kids are grown, she and her husband, Grant, are turning their beloved family home into a cozy bed and breakfast just a mile outside of Langhorne, Missouri.

Opening weekend makes Audrey anxious, with family and friends coming from all over to help celebrate the occasion. But when Audrey’s daughter, Landyn, arrives, the U-Haul she’s pulling makes it clear she’s not just here for a few days. Audrey immediately has questions. What happened in New York that sent Landyn running home? Where was Landyn’s husband, Chase? And what else was her daughter not telling her? One thing was for sure, the Chicory Inn was off to a rocky start. Can Audrey still realize her dream and at the same time provide the comfort of home her daughter so desperately needs?

Learn more and purchase a copy on Deborah’s website.

Deborah Raney’s books have wonnumerous awards, including the RITA, National Readers Choice Award, HOLT Medallion, and the Carol Award, and have twice been Christy Award finalists. She and her husband, Ken, recently traded small-town life in Kansas—the setting of many of Deborah’s novels—for life in the (relatively) big city of Wichita, where they enjoy gardening, antiquing, movies, and traveling to visit four children and a growing brood of grandchildren who all live much too far away. Visit Deborah on the web at DeborahRaney.com.

The first book in Deborah Raney's new Chicory Inn series, Home to Chicory Lane, introduces us to Audrey Whitman, a mother who has launched all her children into life and now looks forward to fulfilling some of her own dreams during her empty-nest years. However, not all of her children are ready to stay out of the nest quite yet.

My Review

I love the setting for this story ! Why ? Because  I use to dream of someday owning a Bed & Breakfast.  In a big victorian house is where I wanted my own to be.  Being 50 I can relate to Audrey's desire to have a dream of her own coming true with her husband.  But sometimes life just for whatever reason takes you in a different direction. I like  Audrey's determination in what she desires and I love her caring spirit. Many a time have I had a grown child return home , even after married.  I can so relate to this book in so many ways. You never know what coming next or who will come home again.  I think you will love this heartfelt story just as much as I did, pick up a copy today and have a wonderful read.
