Books, Books, Books !

On my bookshelf, In my Bible,  on my desk, on my kindle fire, on my kindle paperwhite....in my mind...lol

No matter how someone may say they hate to read, we need books. We need the written word.  To learn from, to be instructed by and to be corrected.  It has been sometimes Holy Spirit breathed, creatively written and now comes in so many forms , not everything is on paper today.  I am not sure if that is good or bad as I have many ways to read now and each has its own advantages.

I remember thinking and saying this morning that I don't have to be the most smart woman on the earth and I surely am not going to try to attain to be !  But today I can read to gain knowledge that doesn't have to remain stuck in my head for eternity .  Alot does remain there from reading though.

I love to read to learn, a new crochet pattern, a recipe for food that we might like to try, a way to garden , a story to my children, a book on health to better or way of living and get healthier . I read my Bible to learn what God has to say on all these things and compare what I read to it, so as not to pollute my  mind with unhealthy things.

So what do you read ?  What reasons do you read ?  Are you reading good things ?

Reading is a good and honorable thing to do and has a place in everyones life !

Fields of The Fatherless by Elaine Cooper

I had never read any of Elaines books , so this was my first ! But it will not be my last that is for sure and for certain. I thoroughly enjoyed the historical accuracy in the book and I am compelled me to delight in reading it to my children for history as we homeschool. I so loved any and all tender moments between characters. Very tastefully written and today morals and edict are much needed. Godly Character and moral value are throughout the book and I am very pleased with all I read therein. I am so glad that I was introduced to Elaine on Colonial Quills with Carrie Fancett Pagal who was hosting a tea party for her. I am now so longing to read Deer Run Series. Some stories just take your breath away and bring the desire for more good reading from that author and this is one of those stories. You will want to read more of her wonderful works, if you have not done so already. I could not put it down, I had to keep reading. It is inspiring and I believe if more folks read such works, they would see what things should and could be like today !

Boy I hope there is a sequel to this one...  I don't think I have been on the edge of my seat and unable to put down a book for a long time.... but with this book I surely was anxious to know what happened next.  I laughed, I cried, it moved me Katy... and it touched my heart !  Such an awesome little book , fits in your purse and packs such a punch !  So, what do an Agent with a deaf son and a school principle have in common when it comes to murder ? Well you will just have to grab this book and see for your self !

I received this book for my honest opinion from Katy Lee and I am not even a suspense reader and it caught my attention and held it from the first chapter.  Awesome Katy Lee... do we get to know what happens in ever after ? Surely you can't just end it there....smile
